THE REAL CENTRE AT THE HEBREW SCRIPTURES



The HEBREW SCRIPTURES, known like the Old Testament in our modern times, have three sections that are :

1.- The TORAH` ( The Law)
2.- The NEVI´IM , and
3.- The KETHUVIM


A) The TORAH have 187 Chapters and 5824 Verses in 5 Books. They are:

Genesis: 50 Chapters and 1532 Verses
Exodo : 40 Chapters and 1202 Verses The middle chapter in Torah´s books is
Leviticus: 27 Chapters and 859 Verses Leviticus Chapter 3.
Numbers:36 Chapters and 1273 Verses, and
Deuter. : 34 Chapters and 958 Verses


NOTE:The centre of the Torah books we can find it in Leviticus 4, verse 18. Reads these words:
“ Some of the blood he shall (the Priest) put on the horns of the altar which is befote ETER
NAL in the Tent of Meeting, and all the resto f the blood he shall (the Priest) pour out at the
Base of the altar of burnt offerings, which is at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.”


B) The NEVI´IM have 380 Chapters and 9208 Verses in 21 Books. They are:

Joshua: 24 Chapters and 656 Verses
Judges: 21 Chapters and 616 Verses
1 Samuel: 31 Chapters and 811 Verses
2 Samuel: 24 Chapters and 693 Verses
1 Kings: 22 Chapters and 817 Verses
2 Kings. 25 Chapters and 716 Verses The middle chapter in Nevi´im´s Books is:
Isahiah 43 that speaks about the Israel´s
Liberation.
Isaiah: 66 Chapters and 1277 Verses
Jeremiah: 52 Chapters and 1362 Verses
Ezequiel: 48 Chapters and 1212 Verses
Hosea: 14 Chapters and 195 Verses
Joel. 4 Chapters and 73 Verses
Amos: 9 Chapters and 146 Verses
Obadiah: 1 Chapter and 21 Verses
Jonah: 4 Chapters and 51 Verses
Micah: 7 Chapters and 105 Verses
Nahum: 3 Chapters and 47 Verses
Habakkuk: 3 Chapters and 56 Verses
Zephaniah: 3 Chapters and 53 Verses
Haggai: 2 Chapters and 38 Verses
Zechariah: 14 Chapters and 209 Verses, and
Malachi: 3 Chapters and 54 Verses


NOTE: The real centre of the total verses at Nevi´im books we can find it in Isaiah 14, verse 21. Speaks
about the slaughtering of the evildoers´s breed. We can read these words: “Prepare a salaughtering
block for his sons because of the guilt of their father. Let them not arise to possess the earth!
Then the world´s face shall be covered with towns.”


C) The KETHUVIM have 362 Chapters and 7104 Verses in 13 Books. They are:




Psalms. 150 Chapters and 2519 Verses
Proverbs: 31 Chapters and 915 Verses
Job: 42 Chapters and 1070 Verses
Song of Songs: 8 Chapters and 117 Verses
Ruth: 4 Chapters and 81 Verses
Lamentations: 5 Chapters and 154 Verses The middle chapter in Kethuvim ´s book is
Eclesiastés: 12 Chapters and 221 Verses Proverbs Chapter 31.


Esther: 10 Chapters and 167 Verses
Daniel: 12 Chapters and 355 Verses
Ezra: 10 Chapters and 280 Verses
Nehemiah: 13 Chapters and 404 Verses
1 Chronicle: 29 Chapters and 943 Verses, and
2 Chronicle: 36 Chapters and 821 Verses.


NOTE: The real centre of the Kethuvim books we can find it in Job 6, verse 9 and read: “Would that ETERNAL
consented to crush me, loosed His hands and cut me off.”

The shorter chapter in Genesis is Genesis 16 with 16 verses.
The longer is Genesis 24 with 67 verses.

The shorter chapter in Exodus is Exodus 11 with 10 verses
The longer chapter is Exodus is Exodus 12 with 51 verses.

The shorter chapter in Leviticus is Leviticus 12 with 8 verses
The longer chapter is Leviticus 13 with 59 verses.

The shorter chapter in Numbers is Numbers 36 with 13 verses,
The longer chapter is Numbers 7 with 89 verses.

The shorter chapter in Deuteronomy is Deuteronomy 34 with 12 verses,
The longer chapter is Deuteronomy 28 with 69 verses.

IN NEVI´IM BOOKS. .

The shorter chapter in Joshua book is Joshua 20 with 9 verses,

The shorter chapoter in 1 Samuel book is 1 Samuel 29 with 11 verses,

The shorter chapter in 2 Samuel book is 2 Samuel 9 with 13 verses,
The longer chapter is 2 Samuel 22 with 51 verses.

The shorter chapter in 1 Kings book is 1 Kings 4 with 20 verses,
The longer chapter is 1 Kings 8 with 66 verses.

The shorter chapter in 2 Kings book is 2 Kings 1 with 18 verses,

The shorter chapter in Isaiah book is Isaiah 20 with 5 verses,
The longer chapter is Isaiah 37 with 38 verses.

The shorter chapter in Jeremiah book is Jeremiah 45 with 5 verses,
The longer chapter is Jeremiah 51 with 64 verses.

The shorter chapoter in Ezekiel book is Ezequiel 15 with 8 verses,
The longer chapter is Ezequiel 16 with 63 verses.

The shorter chapter in Hosea book is Hosea 3 with 5 verses,
The longer chapter is Hosea 23 with 25 verses.

The shorter chapter in Joel book is Joel 3 with 5 verses,
The longer chapter is Joel 2 with 27 verses.

The shorter chapter in Amos book is Amos 4 with 4 with 13 verses,
The longer chapter is Amos 5 with 27 verses.

The Obadiah book has only ONE chapter with 21 verses.

The shorter chapter in Jonah book is Jonah 3 with 10 verses,
The longer chapter is Jonah 1 with 16 verses.

The shorter chapter in Micah book is Micah 3 with 12 verses,
The longer is Micah 7 with 20 verses.

The Nahum book has only three chapters. The first one have 14 verses, the second 14 verses and the third 19 verses with a total of 47 verses.

The Habakkuk book has three chapters too. 17, 20, 19 verse in chapters 1, 2, 3, respectively..

The Zephaniah book has three chapers too. 18, 15 and 20 verses in chapter 1, 2, 3, respectively.

The Haggai book has only two chapters with 15 and 23 verses in chapters 1, and 2 respectively.

The shorter chapter in Zechariah book is Zechariah 3 with 9 verses,
The longer chapter is Zechariah 8 with 23 verses, and

Malachi, originaly, has three chapters with a total of 54 verses. Chapter 1 has 14 verses; chapter 2 has 17 verses and chapter 3 has 23 verses.

IN KETHUVIM BOOKS:

The shorter chapter in Psalms book is Psalm 117 withn 2 verses,
The longer chapter is Psalms 119 with 176 verses.

The shorter chapter in Proverbs book is Proverb 9 with 18 verses,

The longer chapter is Proverbs 8 with 36 verses.

The shorter chapter of Job book is Job 25 with 6 verses,
The longer chapter is Job 38 with 41 verses.

The shorter chapter of the Song of Songs book is Songs 3 with 11 verses,
The longer is chapters 1 and 2 with 17 verses

The longer chapter in Ruth book is Ruth 2 with 23 verses.

The longer chapter in Lamentations book is Lamentations 3 with 66 verses.

The shorter chapter in Ecclesiastes book is Ecclesiastes 11 with 10 verses,
The longer chapter is Eclesiastés 7 with 29 verses.

The shorter chapter in Esther book is Esther 10 with 3 verses,
The longer chapter is Esther 9 with 32 verses.

The shorter chapter in Daniel book es Daniel 12 with 12 verses,
The longer chapter is Daniel 11 with 45 verses.

The shorter chapter in Ezra book is Ezra 1 with 11 verses,
The longer chapter is Ezra 2 with 70 verses.

The shorter chapter in Nehemiah book is Nehemiah 1 with 11 verses,
The longer chapter is Nehemiah 7 with 72 verses.

The shorter chapter in 1 Chronicles book is 1 Chronicles 20 with 8 verses,
The longer chapter is 1 Chronicles 6 with 66 verses.

The shorter chapter in 2 Chronicles 27 with 9 verses, and
The longer chapter is 2 Chronicles 6 with 42 verses.


NOTES:
1).- The HEBREW SCRIPTURES have 22,136 verses in 929 Chapters.
2).- Of all the chapters of the HEBREW SCRIPTURES , the logest one is
Psalms 119 with 176 verses.
3).- Of all the chapters of the H.S., the shorter one is Psalms 117 with 2 verses.
4).- The real centre of ALL the HEBREW SCRIPTURES we can find it in
Isaiah 47, verse 7, and read: “You thought, “I shall always be the mistress still”.
You did not take these things to heart, you gave no thought to the end of it.”
